Affiliate Disclosure

This page exists so you know exactly what this site is before you reserve anything. Every walking tour listed here belongs to an independent local guide, and every reservation happens on GuruWalk or freetour.com, never here. The site sells nothing, runs nothing and charges nothing. What follows is the full picture of how it stays online.

Where The Money Comes From

The income is affiliate commission, and it comes from one place: walking tours. When a reader reserves a free spot on a guide's GuruWalk page or the freetour.com listing through a link here, the platform pays this site a commission. The reader pays the same either way, because the walks are free, pay what you want, and the tip goes to the guide.

That commission is the only revenue. There are no sponsored placements, no paid rankings and no advertising. A walk appears in the directory because it exists and can be reserved, not because a guide or operator paid for the position. GuruWalk and freetour.com are the only platforms this site links to.

The guides themselves are independent of this site. Lucia of Free Walk in Venice, Simona, Annie, Francesco, ITAKA tours, Scandic Tours, Europing Tours, Venicemania and Venice Walking Tour each run their own walks on their own platform pages. This site describes them. It does not employ them, represent them or take a cut of their tips.

What Pays For This Site, And What Doesn't

This site sells nothing and runs no tours of its own. Every walk listed here belongs to an independent local guide who publishes it on GuruWalk or freetour.com, and every walk is free to reserve, pay what you want at the end. When a visitor books through one of those pages, this site may earn a commission from the platform at no cost to the visitor. Nothing else on these pages is paid for.

No church, museum, vaporetto line or shop pays to appear. Piazza San Marco is listed as free because it is. The Gallerie dell'Accademia's first-Sunday entry is listed because the museum's own page says so. If a place carries a charge, the site says so, and no attraction has ever paid to soften that.

What Money Never Buys Here

Every Figure Has A Source

Ratings here are never mixed or converted. GuruWalk walks rate out of 5, so a walk like Rialto And Secret Spots Walk is printed as 4.92 out of 5 across 366 GuruWalk reviews. The Heart Of Venice, Bilingual Guide walk is a freetour.com listing, so it stays on that scale: 8.9 out of 10 across 2,142 freetour.com reviews. The scale travels with the number every time.

This site covers 17 free, pay-what-you-want walks in four categories: seven in essential Venice, five in hidden Venice, four in history and legends, and one covering Murano and Burano. Sixteen are GuruWalk listings and one, Heart Of Venice, Bilingual Guide, is listed on freetour.com. Each walk belongs to its own independent local guide, not to this site.

Venice Works Without This Site

None of this is a walled garden. Every walk can be reserved directly on GuruWalk or freetour.com, and every free attraction can be visited without reading a word here. Piazza San Marco costs nothing to enter whether or not this site exists. The first Sunday at the Gallerie dell'Accademia works the same way.

The site's value is the sorting, not a gate. It gathers free walks, free-entry days and free-to-walk places in one spot so planning takes less time. If you would rather go straight to a guide's own page, or simply wander Cannaregio with no plan at all, Venice will not notice the difference.
